New Rules for Registrations of Acts
A significant new change was introduced in 2021 , concerning the registration of vital acts in Greece. The main competence for their registration has been allocated to the Greek Consulates, reserving only exception competence for the Special Registry in Athens.
The Special Registry in Athens retained ts competence to accept registrations of vital acts (e.g., marriages, births, deaths), assuming that the applicant lives more than 500 km away from the competent Greek Consulate.
